Barbara Kretschmer

Ms. Kretschmer is an Associate Attorney at Flynn, Delich & Wise LLP, where she has worked since 2018. After earning a B.A. in English and History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2012, Ms. Kretschmer went on to graduate with a J.D. from Chapman Fowler School of Law in 2017. Admitted to the bar in May 2018, Ms. Kretschmer has been dedicated to providing legal expertise at Flynn, Delich & Wise LLP ever since.

With over seven years of experience in maritime law, Ms. Kretschmer has developed specialized knowledge in defending cases under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA) and California state Workers' Compensation laws. Ms. Kretschmer has handled cases in both federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies. In addition to her work with the LHWCA and workers' compensation, Ms. Kretschmer has extensive experience defending maritime claims, including Jones Act claims, passenger injury claims, and other personal injury and wrongful death matters.

Furthermore, Ms. Kretschmer has handled cases involving ADA issues, including the Unruh Act and the Disabled Persons Act (“DPA”), as well as premises liability, insurance, terminal operations, trucking matters, and Port regulatory issues to include experience dealing with CARB and emissions guidelines.

Ms. Kretschmer is admitted to practice before all U.S. District Courts in California and is an active member of the Maritime Law Association.
