Lisa M. Conner

  • Ms. Conner graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, Riverside in 1990, and received her J.D. degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law, in 1993.  Ms. Conner joined the law firm of Kaye, Rose & Partners, LLP in 1994, where she began defending maritime litigation matters, primarily handling cases in Los Angeles and San Diego counties.  Ms. Conner was with Aleccia, Conner & Socha for ten years, where she expanded her wealth of maritime knowledge to include defending federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act cases in the Ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles, Hueneme and Oakland.  Ms. Conner joined Flynn, Delich & Wise LLP in 2010.  Her practice includes all aspects of maritime claims in Federal and State Courts including Jones Act claims, Federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act claims, passenger injury claims and other personal injury and wrongful death matters, in addition to insurance, employment, trucking, terminal operation, equipment and subrogation issues. Recently, she has expanded her practice to include serving as a mediator for Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and Defense Base Act claims. Ms. Conner is admitted to practice before all U.S. District Courts in California and Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Ms. Conner has over 30 years’ experience as a trial lawyer in federal courts, state courts and before administrative agencies.  She completed the first all remote jury trial in the State of Washington during the Covid-19 pandemic.  In 2017 she was awarded the California State Assembly’s Women of Distinction Honor. She is a member of the Maritime Law Association and the Longshore Claims Association.  Ms. Conner frequently speaks at conferences on various maritime topics.  She is licensed in California and Washington.

Nicholas S. Politis

  • NICHOLAS S. POLITIS graduated summa cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1976, and received his J.D. degree in 1979 from the University of California at Los Angeles. On graduation from law school, he joined the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted more than 100 jury and court trials. In 1983, Mr. Politis joined the law firm of Graham & James and began practicing maritime law in its Long Beach office, becoming a partner in 1990. In 1993 he was one of the founding partners of Flynn, Delich & Wise. His practice includes all aspects of maritime law, including pollution incidents; environmental compliance and administrative issues; cruise line injuries and casualties; terminal accidents; shipboard injuries and deaths; and chassis/over the road accidents.
